• CEWS is PMU’s interdisciplinary platform for decision-relevant applied research that generates data-driven, practical, and scalable solutions for environmental protection and water resource management. With a primary emphasis on Saudi Arabia and the Eastern Province, CEWS is designed to support national priorities, enable sustainable industrial development, and improve community resilience.

• CEWS brings together an interdisciplinary team of faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and affiliated experts to conduct applied research at the interface of engineering, environmental science, and policy. Our work is designed to be useful for decision-makers, supporting practical choices about technology adoption, resource management, infrastructure planning, and regulatory compliance.

To establish PMU as a nationally and regionally recognized center of excellence for applied environmental and water solutions, delivering decision-relevant research that supports Saudi Vision 2030, enables sustainable industrial development, and improves community resilience.

• Deliver applied, decision-grade research on water security, climate resilience, and pollution control that addresses real-world national challenges and produces robust evidence and insights.

• Translate research into practice by working closely with industry and government partners to co-develop practical solutions, tools, and pilot initiatives that enable effective environmental stewardship and sustainable resource management.
